Ralph C. Wrather

Ralph C. Wrather, age 81 of Murfreesboro, died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Adams Place.

He was a native of the Walter Hill Community and a son of the late Walter L.and Blanche Lowe Wrather. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Waller Wrather and an infant brother, Fred Wrather.

Mr. Wrather is survived by his wife, Sue Benson Wrather; son, Tim Wrather and his wife Mendi of McMinnville; daughters, Pam Wrather and Kaye Wrather both of Murfreesboro; brothers, Bill Wrather of Spartanburg, SC, Sam Wrather of Murfreesboro, Warren Wrather of Lascassas, Larry Wrather of Murfreesboro, David Wrather of Lebanon, Bruce Wrather of Murfreesboro; sisters, Cora Ella Wrather Price of Murfreesboro, Dorothy Wrather Craighead of Midland, NC, Naomi Wrather Todd of Murfreesboro and Nancy Wrather Duke of Manchester; three grandchildren, Walt, Emma Kate and Ava Claire Wrather.

Mr. Wrather was a member and deacon of Third Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran, a 1952 graduate of Walter Hill High School and a graduate of MTSU. He retired from GE after 34 years of service.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mike Lee and Bro. F. Murray Mathis officiating. Burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons and members of his Sunday School class.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

The family requests memorials be made to the in honor of Mr. Wrather.
