She grew up in Murfreesboro with ten siblings and moved to Lebanon after marrying, then to Georgia for a short time, and finally settled in the Norene Community to raise her three children. She cherished her church family at Hurricane Baptist Church and celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary in 1996.

Edwards and Quinn Webb Edwards; and niece, Faye Huddleston, who has lived with her the past 17 years.

Mamie is preceded in death by her parents, John Wilson and Lura Mount Alsup; husband, Clyde Webb Edwards; brothers, Arlie, Lillard, Carl, Johnny, Prentice and Hylan Alsup; sisters, Clara Ingram, Nettie Massey and Annie Stuart.
