Mr. William Dalton

Mr. William Dalton, age 71 of Rockvale, TN, died Friday, November 9, 2012.

A native of Rutherford Co., Mr. Dalton was a son of the late Author Lee and Allie Mae Freeman Dalton. William was a man of strong character and faith, and belonged to Grace Church at Franklin, where he loved to fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ. In his early years, he worked a few factory jobs, ran a milk route for Rutherford Co. Creamery and retired from Rutherford Co. Solid Waste. For most of his working life, he enjoyed buying and selling livestock and tack.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Adam Dalton; sisters, Rosa Lee Hendrix, Mattie Mae Brown, Lorene Gardner and JoAnne Dalton.

Survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie Dalton of Rockvale; 3 daughters, Cathy (Mike) Council of Shelbyville, Becky (David) Hale of Ashland City, Renee (John) Holladay of Unionville; 3 sisters, Evelyn Carlton of Rockvale, Maxine Whately of Murfreesboro, Marilyn Curlee of Shelbyville; 11 grandchildren, Adam and Daniel Jacobs, Tiffany Mullins, Tabitha Manter, Lindsey Council, Matthew Dalton, John Holladay, Lauren Holladay, Travis Dedmon, David Hale and Savannah Hale; 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Whitworth Cemetery in Rutherford Co.
