Delbert N. "Izzy" Israel(1936 - 2018)

Delbert "Izzy" N. Israel, 82, went to be with Jesus on August 23, 2018. He was born on February 27, 1936, in Cimarron, Kansas, the son of Porter T. and Ella Lucille (Prescott).

Delbert graduated from Ensign High School in 1954. He then spent a 1 ½ years attending the Dodge City Community College.

January 21, 1956 he enlisted in Dodge City in the United State Air Force. He was honorably discharged January 20, 1960 in Alexandria, LA.

On March 2, 1963 Delbert Neal and Bonnie Lucile were united in marriage in Denver, CO. They were married 55 years.

Delbert was a longtime member of the Westside Baptist Church. He was very involved in the ministry and raised his daughters to follow Jesus.

Delbert was a Fire Captain for the City of Hutchinson for 26 years before retiring in 1996. He worked as an aircraft mechanic both while in the Air Force and after his discharge. Following retirement, he drove the school bus for the Nickerson School District.

He was a man of service. Delbert had a huge heart and would help anyone that was in need. His number one love was spending time with his family that he loved dearly. In his free time he enjoyed golfing, exercising or riding his motorcycle.

Preceding him in death are his parents and three brothers, Richard Gale, LeRoyce DeWayne and Carroll Glee Israel; sister, Donetta Cook and two nephews, Mark Israel and Aaron Cook.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie Lucile, Buhler; two daughters and their family, Susan Marie Grivna and husband Shane, Sapulpa, OK their children Alexandria and husband Blane Davis and Nathan Grivna, and Stephanie Lynn and husband Todd Barnes, and daughter Morgan, of Newton, KS; sister Loretta and Fred Kuestersteffen, Newton, KS; brother, Nyland "Butch" and wife Mary, TX and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, KS from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting guests from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

A Celebration of Delbert's life will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Westside Baptist Church in Hutchinson.

Burial will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery.
