Dolores N. "Dodo" Giles Obituary
ASHLAND - Dolores "Dodo" N. Giles, 95, died Sunday, August 20, 2018 at Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.
She was born February 7, 1923 in Wright, Kansas the daughter of Roger and Minnie (Wortman) Norris. She was a graduate of Spearville High School and attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. She owned and operated a multigenerational ranch.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, and the Daughters of Isabella, both in Spearville. She was a life member of the Kansas Livestock Association.
On February 22, 1943 she married Norman Lee Giles in Wright, Kansas. He preceded her death on December 20, 2010.
Survivors include: daughter, Trudy Giard, Ashland; son, Roger Giles and wife Cathy, Bucklin, daughter, Audry Gates and husband Ralph, Hockley, Texas; daughter, Jody Peintner and husband Gary, Holyoke, Colorado; daughter, Lorie Horacek and husband Jon, Offerle; son, Kelly Giles, Canyon, Texas; and daughter, Julie Cox and husband Mike, Arlington, Texas.
She was also preceded in death by, parents, infant daughter, Jodie Marie, 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Vigil service will be Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Spearville. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church north of Bellefont with Fr. John Forkuoh, Fr. John Strasser, and Fr. Prakash Rao Kola presiding. The casket will remain closed, there will be no public visitation. Private burial will take place.
