CIMARRON - Connie Sue Ratzlaff, 72, died Friday, February 23, 2018 at her home near Cimarron. She was born September 1, 1945 at Shattuck, Oklahoma the daughter of Harold and Mae (Brisendine) Smith.  A Cimarron resident since 1974, moving from Satanta, she worked as a Dispatcher for the Santa Fe Railroad for 20 years and later was a rural Mail Carrier for several years.  She loved trains, the beauty of the Southwest, outdoor yard work, and especially traveling to spend time with family and friends. Connie was saved at a young age in the Baptist Church in Okeene and was a valued member of the First Baptist Church of Cimarron for many years.
On June 13, 1965 she married Ernest "Ernie"; Ratzlaff at Okeene, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death on August 10, 2013.
Survivors include: her son Robert "Bobby", Taos, New Mexico; her mother, Mae Smith, Okeene, Oklahoma; a grandson, Ryan and fiancé Bree of Garden City; 2 granddaughters, Megan and husband Thad Mitchell of Gillette Wyoming, and Aris Ratzlaff, Taos, New Mexico; 3 great-grandsons, Weston, Bradley and Thad, II; 4 great-granddaughters, Morgan, Audriana, Makenna and Jennessa; a brother, Randy Smith and wife Becky, Oklahoma City; 3 sisters, Marilyn Reich and husband Pete, Perryville, Maryland, Vonda Barnwell and husband Barney, Ponca City, Oklahoma and Nancy Benham, Yukon, Oklahoma; a sister, Brenda Dull, Oklahoma City; and a brother, Bill Smith, Georgia and many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her father, her oldest son Brad in 2003, a grandson, Cody and a brother, Gary Githens.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Cimarron, with Rev. Richard Deimund officiating. Burial will follow in the Cimarron Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from noon to 8:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron.
