Bernard "Bud" Selvick

Bernard "Bud" Selvick, 88, of Sturgeon Bay passed away at the Skilled Nursing Facility on October 22, 2013. He was born October 5, 1925, in Oak Park, IL to Edward and Inga Selvick. Bud served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. On June 26, 1948, he married Lorraine Nelson in Chicago.

Bud owned and operated a number of businesses during his life including the Cliff Dwellers Resort in Sturgeon Bay. He also worked for a dredging company on the Great Lakes for many years and retired after working for Bay Shipbuilding. Bud was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Sturgeon Bay and he enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and Meals-on-Wheels.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; two daughters, Cindy (Paul) Freitag, New Franken; and Nancy (Dave) Bontempo, Sturgeon Bay; three grandchildren, Heidi (Brian) Dye, Chicago; Kate (Dan) Glesner, New Franken; Andrew (fiancé, Leigha Saiz) Freitag, Flagstaff, AZ; one great-grandson, Gabriel Glesner. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Earl Selvick and a step-sister, Edith Haining.

Memorial Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Sturgeon Bay, the Rev. Cory Dahl officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. On-line condolences may be offered at wwwforbesfuneralhome.com
