Farley, Sr., Roy E.

Roy Edward Farley, Sr., 89, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Golden Living Center - Dorchester where he had been living the past three years.

He was born February 9, 1925, in Garden, MI, the son of the late David Joseph and Catherine (Lunenburg) Farley. Roy was united in marriage to Iva Dorothy Londo on August 31, 1947, in Garden. They were blessed with 58 years of marriage together, many children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Iva preceded Roy in death on September 1, 2005.

Roy had been a member of Family Worship Center in Sturgeon Bay.

As an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing. Over the years, Roy played in numerous bowling, horseshoe, and pool leagues. He liked watching stock car races, in-person at the races in Sturgeon Bay, Luxemburg, De Pere, and Shawano, and on television as he cheered on Jeff Gordon, his favorite NASCAR driver.

Roy will be missed by his children; Christine (Al) Rosenburg of Woodruff, WI, Paula (Patrick) Surber of San Jose, CA, Richard (Linda) Farley of New Franken, Darrell Farley of Algoma, Gloria (Harold) Huske of Manitowish Waters, Jeff (Nancy) Farley of Green Bay, Rosemary Olson (Dennis Brungraber) of Jacksonport, Katherine Rader of Algoma, Alan Farley (Nancy Raye), Susan (Gary) Hollman, both of Sturgeon Bay, Angela (Steven) Kiehnau of Egg Harbor, Ron (Corrie) Farley of Algoma, Roy (Julie) Farley, Jr., of Green Leaf; 36 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Iva; five sisters; and three brothers.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
