Bernard "Beanie" Stauber

Bernard "Beanie" Stauber, 83, of Brussels, passed away on Aug. 18, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center. He was born on May 10, 1931, in Brussels to Michael and Elsie (Oldenburg) Stauber. On July 18, 1953, he married Shirley Raynier in Maplewood. She preceded him in death on June 5, 2003.

Beanie farmed his whole life in the Town of Gardner. He loved John Deere tractors and watching the Packers. Most of all, he loved spending time with his twin grandchildren, Megan and Ryan.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Donna Stauber, Brussels; two grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Stauber; a brother, Sylvester (Arlene) Stauber, Kewaunee; three sisters, Isabelle Peters, Sturgeon Bay; Dorothy (Bernard) Walters, Sheboygan; Donna (Jim) Reel, Sheboygan; two sisters-in-law, Iva Stauber, Green Bay; Peggy Stauber, Sturgeon Bay; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Shirley; four brothers, Leonard, Eugene, Ralph, and Lawrence; four sisters, Grace, Annabelle, Helen, and Angela.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum with the Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, Aug. 21, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and on Friday at the mausoleum from 12 noon until the time of service. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. On-line condolences may be offered at www.forbesfuneralhome.com
