Frank James Clark, 86, Fish Creek, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, after a long struggle with illness. He spent much time visiting with his family and friends.
Frank was born in Sturgeon Bay, on Nov. 1, 1926, to Sanford and Eva (Mapes) Clark. He graduated from Sevastopol High School, and served in the U.S. Army at the end of World War II, stationed in Hawaii. On July 9, 1949, he married Dorothy Foote, who preceded him in death in 1972. On June 16, 1973, he married Myrtle Johnson in Egg Harbor, and moved to Wauwatosa. They celebrated their 39th anniversary this past June with a Barn Dance and Fish Boil.
Frank was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. He held a variety of jobs, and with his wife Myrtle returned to Door County, to purchase Clark Propane and Appliances in Sister Bay, during the mid-1980's. During his life Frank was a member of the Gideons, Full Gospel Businessmen, Kiwanis, VFW, and the Southern Door school board.
Frank and Myrtle enjoyed traveling, and took each of their 11 grandchildren on a special vacation.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; four children, Judy (Warren) Phillips, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; Darrel (Tammy) Clark, Fish Creek, Wis.; Jay (Patty) Clark, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; and Laurie (Danny) Giombi, St. Francis, Wis.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Amelia Payne, Sheboygan, Wis.; one brother, Raymond (Edith) Clark, Sheboygan, Wis. Other survivors include many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Herbie, Gerald and Clifford; one sister, Doris (George) Madjacic; and two half sisters, Lucille Timm and Helen Fulmer.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 11 at Zion United Methodist Church, Fish Creek, followed by Military Honors.
