Crass, Linda Marie

Linda Marie Crass, 45, of Marshfield, and formerly of Sturgeon Bay and California, died Saturday evening, June 15, 2013, at Ministry Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 17, 1967, in Neenah, the daughter of Roger and Sun Cha Crass. Linda graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1985 and went on to study at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for two years before earning her degree in music from the University of California-Irvine.

Linda initially worked in the advertising department for a newspaper for four years. While living in California, she worked as an elementary school teacher. Over the course of 11 years, Linda taught first, second, third, and fifth grades. More recently, she was living in Marshfield where she taught preschool at Bright Horizons for the Marshfield Clinic families.

Linda was currently a member of Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church. In Sturgeon Bay, she attended Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church. Linda loved music, softball, and bowling, which she competed in professionally. After being diagnosed with cancer, she tried bungee jumping, riding in a hot air balloon, and skydiving.

She will be deeply missed by her partner Todd Straughan (and his children Alexis and Taylor) of Marshfield; father Roger Crass of Sturgeon Bay; brother Stephen (Kami) Crass (and their children, Ashley [and her daughter Hayden], Colton, and Callie) of Montana; Linda's California family, her adopted mother Oralia Gonzalez, sisters Lulu Gonzalez, Kris (Josh) Vogt (and their children, Monique, Klarissa, and Kassandra - Linda's baby girl, and Shane); and other relatives and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Sun Cha Crass; and nephew, Jacob Thomas Crass.

A memorial service honoring and celebrating her life will be held in early July, 2013, at Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church with Rev. Dr. Matthew R. Knapp officiating. Service times will be announced in the near future.
