Chapman, Richard R.

Richard R. Chapman, of Institute, was born to eternal life on Tuesday, September 10, 2013.

He was the devoted and treasured husband of Lee E. Chapman. Together they shared 24 blessed, God-given years together. Rich was the loving father to Russ Chapman, Regi (Pat) LeMere, Roy Chapman, Ralph (Mary) Chapman, Holly Olm, and Brad (Mary Beth) Olm. He was a proud grandpa to Hailey, Leah, Ali, Kirstin, Nick, Kevin, Sean; and the playful "Pop" to Jessie and Emma.

Rich was born, raised in West Bend, WI, the youngest of 11 children. Following graduation from West Bend High School in 1950, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He loved greeting a fellow Marine with "Semper Fi".

He was employed for 32 years at SERIGRAPH INC. in West Bend until his retirement. He and Lee retired to Door County full time.

Rich was a humble man of great integrity who never spoke an unkind word about anyone. He always gave with his heart, and considered his own needs last. He was known for his "handyman" skills, which were reflected in every room of his home. Rich was a poet at heart. His many works of beautiful poetry touched and inspired many. He was a devoted Dad and had bragging rights over his grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Learning Center/Cedar Community Center, 4274, Learning Center Dr., West Bend, WI 53095.

Huehns Funeral Home of Sturgeon Bay is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given in his memory to Door County Humane Society.

"I've no doubt, my dear friend, that there was a special place in heaven waiting for you. Give Cassie a hug for me". "Luv"
