Walrabenstein, Arthur (Art) W.

Arthur (Art) W. Walrabenstein, 90, of Sister Bay passed away peacefully on October 14, 2013, at Cardinal Ridge in Sturgeon Bay after a long illness. He was a friendly and kind man who never met a person he didn't like.

Art was born May 28, 1923 in Waukesha, to Arthur H. and Maude (Pratt) Walrabenstein. He adored his younger sister, Edna. He served his country during WWII and was stationed in the South Pacific in the United States Army, arriving home from the army on Christmas Eve 1945. He married Betty Steffen in 1947 and had two daughters, Donna and Susan. Art and his brother-in-law, Homer Walls, owned A&A Trucking Company and General Cartage in Waukesha, until his retirement in 1985. He moved to Sister Bay, after retiring from the trucking company and worked as a starter at Peninsula Golf Course until this past July. He devoted his life to the happiness of his wife of 66 years, Betty. As a youth, he was an avid baseball player. He enjoyed golf and was an ardent Packers fan.

Besides Betty, he is survived by his two daughters, Donna (Dan) Danielson and Susan Walrabenstein, his sister Edna Walls, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on November 1, from 2 to 5 at Alexander's Restaurant, 3667 Highway 42 in Fish Creek, WI. A military burial will occur in Waukesha, at a date and time to be determined. Casperson Funeral Home's website (www.caspersonfuneralhome.com) will have updates as well as a place for on-line condolences.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to Old Glory Honor Flight, 4650 W. Spencer St., Appleton, WI 54914 or the First United Methodist Church, 121 Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186.
