Roger Isaacson Obituary
Isaacson, Roger "Red"

Roger "Red" Isaacson (9/8/1926 - 06/10/2014) has passed into Glory where he will never again have a race car break down, a bus that won't run, or a mail Jeep without heat. Tire treads will last forever and, best of all, there is no speed limit! As a bonus, duct tape is abundantly available.

Roger was born in Sister Bay, Wisconsin, and grew up loving anything with an engine. He pushed everything to the limit, boating, motorcycling and racing stock cars. Roger served in World War II maneuvering ships of troops. He drove semi, owned a bus line, ran school buses, delivered mail, sold cars (and bought more than he sold!), and negotiated real estate transactions.

No baby, pet, or pretty woman ever longed for attention when Red was around. He was a life-long member of Sister Bay First Baptist Church, where for many years he served in music ministry in a men's chorus (singing bass), and in the orchestra on trombone.

He is survived by his wife, Faye, of 66 years; four children, Nancy Lange, Scott (Nancy) Isaacson, Shelley (Mark) Allen and Heather (Matthew) Thenell; four grandchildren, Cameron Isaacson, Andrew (Erin) Isaacson, Laura (Erik) Krumholz and Brian (Holli) Lange; 11 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Evelyn Hulbert, Gloria (Glen) Sitte and Dorothy (Bud) Larson.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, until the memorial service celebrating Roger's life at 3:00 pm with Rev. Mark Billington officiating. Military honors will follow. Online condolences may be expressed at

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Roger's memory.

Many thanks to the outstanding staffs at Artisan Assisted Living and Woodside Memory Care Unit where Roger was so well cared for with competence and genuine love.
