William Kenneth Nowell

William Kenneth Nowell William Kenneth (Kenny) Nowell, a resident of Doth-an, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday night, December 22, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident which occurred on Denton Road in Dothan. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, December 24, 2010, in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Chur-ch, near Grimes, with Reverend Danny Quincey and Reverend Scotty Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Do-than. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:30 P.M. Friday in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Building Fund, 2240 County Road 79, Dothan, AL 36303. Mr. Nowell was born and reared near Headland and attended Headland High School. He lived in Dothan, on the family farm, for the past twenty years. Mr. Nowell began his telecommunication career with GTE as a service technician. In later years, he retired from Circle City Telcom as co-owner and operator. Mr. Nowell is currently employed by Nowell Enterprises, near Headland. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Mr. Nowell was an avid racing and Nascar fan and enjoyed restoring antique vehicles. He was a member of the Cushman Motor Scooter Club of America. His memory will continue that of a caring heart and a quick wit. Mr. Nowell was preceded in death by his father, Durwood Alfred Nowell, Sr. Surviving relatives include his wife of eighteen years, Gloria Fowler Now-ell, Dothan; two daughters, Christy Nowell Glass and husband, Vance; Kendra Nowell Stewart and husband, Dwayne, all of Do-than; two step-daughters, Kristie Starling, Midland City; Kim Devier and husband, Alan, Charleston, S.C.; his mother, Maureen DeShazo Nowell, Headland; a sister, Starla Schroll, Dothan; three brothers, Dr. D.A. Nowell, Jr., Dothan; Ronny Nowell, Headland; Benny Nowell and wife, Cynthia, Dothan; seven grandchildren, Chad and Jessica Glass, Anna and Garrison Stewart, Jordan Werner, Josh Platt and Logan Devier; a sister-in-law, Judy Fowler, Wicksburg; a brother-in-law, James Fowler and wife, Melinda, Georgia; several nieces and nephews. Serving as active pall-bearers will be nephews, Ryan Nowell, Rustin Now-ell, Ben Nowell, Gregory Schroll, Garrett Schroll and Grant Schroll.
