Annabel (Warwick) Sterling Obituary
Annabel Warwick Sterling, 90, of Dover, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Dover Place Assisted Living Facility.

Annabel was born in Fairmont, Md., to Charles and Elizabeth Warwick on March 3, 1927. She moved to Crisfield, Md. at age 7 and graduated from Crisfield High School in 1944. She later moved to Salisbury, Md. in 1950 and then relocated permanently to Dover in 1952.

Besides her parents, Annabel was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Norris Sterling Sr., her sisters Doris Sterling, Elsie Lawson and brother Charles Warwick all of Crisfield, Md.

She is survived by her sons, Eugene Norris Sterling Jr. and wife Claire of Alexandria, Va., Larry Douglas Sterling and his wife Pat of Dover, Charles Keith Sterling and his wife Kim of Dover and Dr. Bryan Kenneth Sterling and his wife Amy of Dover. She is also survived by grandchildren, Christine Sterling (husband Peter Merkel) of Arlington, Va., Alison Alford (husband Eli) of Alexandria, Va., Alexis (Lexi) Sterling of Dover and great-grandchildren, Oliver Merkel, Ian Merkel and Elizabeth (Lib) Alford all of Virginia.

Annabel was an active member of Wesley Methodist Church and a member of Wesley Methodist Women, Mary Circle for over 60 years. She also was a volunteer at Kent General Hospital Jr. Board for over 30 years. She loved gardening and was an active member of the Sprig and Twig Club for over 30 years. Finally, Annabel and her husband, Gene travelled extensively throughout the world visiting the Holy Land, Egypt, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Quebec, as well as Hawaii, Alaska and other domestic locations.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 East Lebanon Road, Dover, with burial at the Lakeside Cemetery, 558 North State Street, Dover.

The family wishes to express much appreciation to the entire staff at the Dover Place Assisted Living Facility, Compassionate Care Hospice of Delaware and Pulmonary Connections of Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 South State Street, Dover, Delaware 19901-6727 or Dover Place, 1203 Walker Road, Dover, Delaware 19904-6541.
