Mr. Clarence William "Buck" McKinney Sr. Obituary
Mr. Clarence William McKinney Sr., known as "Buck" to all of his friends, passed away Saturday, December 22, (coincidentally his son Frank's birthday) at home in Dover, from complications of liver cancer. As the father of nine children, he understood the importance of family and now joins his son, Franklin I. McKinney, who preceded him in death (2005).

Buck was a Delaware native but a frequent visitor to his parents' and family's residences in Florida. He traveled to Enewetok, Marshall Islands, during his time in the Army, Hawaii to visit his son, and later in life Australia, with his wife, for a three month self-guided tour of the country. He was active in Boy Scouts of America with his two oldest sons, and later in Civil Air Patrol with his youngest five children. The VFW was also near to his heart in his later years.

Buck is survived by his wife, Mary Helen (Nipper) McKinney, Clarence (Mac) McKinney Jr. (Doris), Thomas McKinney, Judy McKinney Cherry (Phil), Jo Ann Norquest (Chris), Jerry McKinney, James McKinney (Janet), Sonia Cady (Roland) and Tonia Simmons, 26 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews.

A service was held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, with interment at the Sharon Hill Cemetery, Garden of Peace, where Buck was laid to rest near his son, Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made to Meals on Wheels, c/o Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Avenue, Dover, DE 19904 or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
