David R. Robbins Sr. Obituary
David R. Robbins Sr., 91, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover.

He was born in Frederica on Sept. 1, 1925, son of the late Arthur Reynolds Robbins and Beulah Hall Robbins.

Mr. Robbins was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country proudly during World War II with the 309th Field Artillery Battalion. He owned and operated a successful dairy farming business for 21 years before accepting a position with Kraft/General Foods in Dover, where he remained for 20 years before retiring.

In his leisure time, Reyn enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederica.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine A. Robbins, and his sister, Jeanette H. Webb.

Mr. Robbins is survived by his sons: David R. Robbins, Jr. and wife Melinda; Joseph T. Robbins and wife Nancy; Steven C. Robbins and Diana Robbins; and seven grandchildren (Jeremy and wife Laura, Joshua and wife Nicki, Christopher, Heather, Jan, Jessalynn and husband Shaun and Skyler) and six great grandchildren (Drake, Ella, Reyn, Reilly, Cali and Colton).

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow the services in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4, Frederica, DE, 19946 or the Frederica Fire Co, P.O. Box 283, Frederica.
