Doris Blanche (Aubrey) Woodall Obituary
Doris (Aubrey) Woodall, 93, died on Sunday, March 8, in Georgetown, Delaware, after several years of declining health. Doris was born April 4, 1921, in Aldenville, Massachusetts, the oldest of nine children of Elijah and Regina Aubrey. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. The roots and memories of her happy childhood sustained her throughout her life, and she always referred to Massachusetts as home.

Doris married Jack Woodall on August 30, 1941, and they had one son, Kenneth Lee Woodall. Doris and Jack moved to Delaware in the 1950s, living in Lincoln and Milford before settling in Dover. Over the years, Doris volunteered at the thrift shop on Dover Air Force Base and bought and sold antiques under the name "Woodall's Antiques." Anyone who knew Doris knew of her love for treasures and bargains. In their later years, Doris and Jack volunteered with the USO, acting as greeters for incoming servicemen at Dover Air Force Base. They got a kick out of getting up in the middle of the night to make coffee and greet people coming in from all over the world.

Doris was a true people person and loved making connections with people wherever she went. She was especially happy when she was able to find someone who, like her, spoke French or grew up in Massachusetts. If you knew Doris, you probably have a funny story to tell about something she said or did. She was full of life and humor and enjoyed a good time.

Doris is survived by her son, Ken; grandchildren, Jenny, Annie, and Zach; daughter-in-law, Sally; and great-granddaughters, Ylena and Liana. She is also survived by her siblings, Roger Aubrey, Donald Aubrey, Robert Aubrey, and Sr. Ruth Aubrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother George Aubrey, and her sisters, Jeanne Roberts, Lucille LeMay, and Gertie Aubrey.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 South State Street, Dover, DE. Burial will be private.
