Dovie C. Duncan passed away Tuesday, April 11, at the Country Rest Home, Greenwood. She was born on Aug. 8, 1921, in Easley, S.C., daughter of the late John and Lucile Phillips.

Dovie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Duncan; parents, John and Lucile Phillips; sister Sarah Crowe; brothers Lester, RM, Melvin and infant boy Phillips.

Dovie is survived by her three children: Earl Lewis Duncan, Jr. (Ruth) Hartly, Lucille Pearson (Tom) Dover, Pearl Garlock (Jay) Dover; brother Lyn Phillips (Debbie) Grear, S.C.; two grandchildren, Deborah Shepherd (Brian) Landenberg, Pa. and Daniel Garlock (Cindy) El Paso, Tex.; and two great-grandchildren, Jarrett Shepherd, Landenberg and Danielle Garlock, Dover.

Dovie never met a stranger. She especially loved children and worked for many years in child care managing Doll House Nursery I & II in Dover.
