Earl Wheeler West Sr. Obituary
Earl Wheeler West, Sr. of Camden, Delaware passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at home. He was 87.

Mr. West was born October 11, 1926 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Geddes Earl West and Nannie Marie Kennett West.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tom, sisters Carrie and Bernadine and granddaughter Shannon.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII, on the USS Atherton Destroyer Escort. Mr. West had retired in 1988 after 25 years, as a technician for Chesapeake Utilities, Dover. Prior to moving to Delaware in 1962 he worked as an auto mechanic in Spartanburg. He also drove micro midget race cars throughout the Carolinas. Mr. West had also worked for many companies around the East Coast and Canada converting cities and towns from coal to gas. He enjoyed fishing both fresh water and salt water, but spending time with his family was the most important.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann "Jeanette" Clark West of Camden; sons, Earl West, Jr. of Canterbury, Daniel West of Magnolia; daughters, Nancy Lynn Fields and her husband Ike of Wyoming, Teresa Pippin of Camden; grandchildren, Wayne and his wife Dee, Andy, Eric, Christopher, Patrick, Conner; great grandchildren, Danielle and her husband Alec, Brandon and his wife Taylor, DeAnna, Eric, Zachary, Evan and Eva and a great great grandchild on the way. And many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11Am, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Season Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
