Gerald Joseph Knable Obituary
After a long illness, Gerald Joseph Knable of Dover DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 30, 2015.

Gerry was born in Philadelphia on March 12, 1948 to Joseph C. and Elizabeth Miller Knable, deceased.

He is survived by his Dover family including his wife, Lynn Schmid Knable, his daughters Lesley Knable Louder and Elise Knable Coffin, his two sons-in-law, Darrell Louder and Jason Coffin, a grandson, Ethan Louder, his sister, Janice Knable Chilli of Kitty Hawk N.C., and her children, Frank and Amanda, and living all around the country, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews and their families.

Gerry was very proud of his work with cognitively impaired individuals at Stockley Center. He loved to cook and pass along to neighbors his soups, coffee cakes, and famed TK's BBQ sauce. He really liked collecting Lionel trains, building car models, and loved vintage cars and airplanes. He was handy with carpentry and worked on many projects with his family like building stairs, decks, bicycles, and more. Gerry also loved animals and had many beloved pets in his lifetime. He was a giant man with a big heart who is remembered by many that way.

Family and friends may call from 7 - 9:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9th at Torbert's Funeral Chapel located on 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, DE 19901. Funeral services will commence at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb 10th also at Torbert's Funeral Chapel.
