Jane Dawes Lafferty Obituary
Jane Dawes Lafferty, of Glen Mills, PA., went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 8, 2015. She was 92.

Jane was born, August 26, 1923, in Dover, DE to the late, Arthur & Ida (Moor) Dawes. She had worked as the secretary to the assistant superintendant for the Caesar Rodney School District for 15 years, before retiring in 1987.

Jane was a devout Christian, and a very active member of the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, in Camden; where she served as secretary & treasurer for the womens group ; and also served as the secretary for the womens board at the church.

She was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Round Table Club; played Bridge for all of her life; and volunteered at the Woodside United Methodist Church, making sleeping bags for the homeless. After relocating to Maris Grove, Jane joined the Knitting Club there, and enjoyed making scarves, blankets, mittens, and hats, that were donated to the needy in the area. She also enjoyed attending the lecture series & cultural events at Maris Grove.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Lafferty; and her siblings, Margaret D. Tieman, Beulah Pyott, William Dawes & Arthur F. Dawes, Jr.

She is survived by her two children, Joan Marie Caldwell & her husband, Bill, of Blairstown, NJ; and Jay D. Lafferty, of Wilmington, DE.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Caldwell, of Allamuchy, NJ; Jeff Caldwell & wife, Laura, of Blairstown, NJ; Sara McFarland and husband, Dave, of Wilmington; and Colleen Lafferty & fiance' Nick Brancato, of Nevada; and 7 great-grandchildren, Kyrie & Eleison Knierim; Owen & Talia Caldwell; Julia & Hailey Yudichak; and Liam Snyder.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 6 to 8 pm, in Pippin funeral Home, Inc. , 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; and also Monday, from 10-11am. Funeral Services will follow at 11 am, on Monday. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 16 N. Main St., Camden , DE 19934 or to the Scholars Fund at Maris Grove c/o Barbara Burri, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA. 19342.
