Katherine L. Grabill Obituary
Katherine L. Grabill of Felton passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2014. She was 96.
Mrs. Grabill was born June 6, 1918, in Baltimore, Md., to the late William Quaskey and Barbara Darmstadt Quaskey. She was the last of seven children.
She was co-owner of the Dover Newsstand from 1962 until her retirement in 1978. After her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Grabill was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, whom she met when she was 16, Marion Grabill, who died in 2003 after 66 years of marriage; siblings, William Quaskey Jr., Margaret Chancy, Dorothy Milby, Emory M. Quaskey, Frederick Roderigas and Ernest Roderigas.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara E. Sanders and her husband, Charles, of Felton; grandchildren, Brandon Sanders of Laurel, Md., Garrett Sanders and his wife, Katelyn, of Stephens City, Va., Dustin Sanders of Valdosta, Ga., and Brian Sanders and his wife, Lealane, of Blackshear, Ga; great-grandchildren, Addison Grace Sanders of Stephens City, Va., Olivia and Owen Sanders of Blackshear, Ga.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., in Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, in Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to First State Animal Center and SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934 or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
