Salvator "Sam" Maccarone Jr. Obituary
Salvatore "Sam" Maccarone, Jr. of Dover passed away on February 19, 2015. Born in Swedesboro, Sam was the son of Salvatore Sr. and Mary (Panisi) Maccarone. His wife of forty years, Donna (Kragler), children, Lisa Locuson and her husband Bryan, Michael Maccarone and his wife Shirley, Joseph Reis, Kevin Moore, Marc Moore and his wife Jeryl, and Eric Moore, sister, Ida Rafferty (Joseph), nine grandchildren, Zachary, Victoria and Nickolas Locuson, Ashlee and Michelle Maccarone, Brandon Moore, Sara Reis, Taylor Moore and Sydney Moore survive him. In addition to his parents, his siblings, Rosario Maccarone, Joseph Maccarone and Frances Kressley predeceased him.

A graduate from Woodstown High School, Sam would eventually begin working at DuPont Chamber Works and retire from there.

Throughout life his was active in sports, from participating to watching. In high school, he played football and afterwards he played in a semi-pro league. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and crabbing. Sam also loved spending time in his yard. From cutting the grass, planting and tending to his garden, he would spend endless hours there. However, what was most important to Sam was his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a true friend to all.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday night, February 25th, at the Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad St., Woodstown, NJ 08098 from 7 until 9 p.m. and again Thursday morning, February 26th, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. The service will follow the Thursday morning visitation at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Lawnside Cemetery. www.adamsfuneralhome.org.
