Dustin Malouff Obituary

Durango resident Dustin J. Malouff died from complications of cancer Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver. He was 29.

Mr. Malouff was born to Lonnie and Karen Malouff on March 3, 1983, in Durango. He grew up in Durango, Denver and Albuquerque.

After moving back to Durango from Denver in October 2011, he worked for S&S Construction.

"He had a passion for friends and family and fly-fishing," his family said. "He loved to cook, and he loved to eat. He was a person of deep faith."

Mr. Malouff is survived by his father and stepmother, Lonnie and Dena Malouff of Durango; mother and stepfather, Karen Malouff and Mike Crisler, of Denver; brother Jesse Malouff of Loveland; stepsister, Michelina Paulek, of Durango; stepbrother, Shay Broadhead of Grand Junction; grandparents Sybil Malouff of Arboles, Betty Larson of Denver and Bruce Fassett of Durango; one niece and one nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service was held Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Water Stone Community Church in Littleton. A private family burial was held at the Allison-Tiffany Cemetery in Allison. The Rev. Dan Straw was the officiant.

A celebration of life and picnic will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Little Fishes Gazebo, mile marker No. 7 on County Road 213 in Durango.

Memorial contributions may be made to Florida Mesa Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 2258, Durango CO, 81302; or a charity of one's choice.
