After serving in that career, he set out to accomplish his lifelong dream of becoming a shrimper on a shrimp boat in the Gulf of Mexico for one year.

When he returned to Oklahoma from Louisiana, he fulfilled another dream by owning and operating his own business. He and Betty were the proud owners of the Caney Day and Nite for 8 years. Bill loved to travel and was always ready to take a trip. Some of his most enjoyable times were spent with the entire family.
