Bobby Dean Allmon

Bobby Dean Allmon was born March 9, 1934 in Durant to P.E. and Ida Pearl (Osburn) Allmon and passed from this life surrounded by his family on February 3, 2014 at his home in Durant at the age of 79.

Bobby attended high school in Durant and later joined the United States Marine Corps serving from 1951 to 1954. He served in the Korean War in 1952 and 1953 and he was very proud to be a Marine. After his honorable discharge, he married Glenda Dean James on October 1, 1955 in Durant and they were blessed with 58 plus years together. He worked as a carpenter and later as a bus driver for the Choctaw Casino. He was of the Baptist faith and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, sports, wood working and he dearly loved his family and friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents P.E. (John) and Ida Allmon; sisters Leona and Nelly; brothers Billy Jack, Loyd, CJ, DC, , CB Allmon and infant brother and grandson Keith Hendrix.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife Glenda Allmon of the home; daughter Darla Emerson and husband Bruce of Durant; son Bobby John Allmon and wife Shawnell of Bokchito; grandchildren Shawn Hendrix and wife Mona, Amy Fabris and husband Clark, Sara Shepard and husband Jon, Bailey Allmon, Kelsey Allmon and Tori Allmon; 8 great grandchildren; his beloved dog Sofia and other extended family and friends.

Services to celebrate Bobby's life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Roger Speers will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Bruce Emerson, Clark Fabris, Jon Shepard, Jon Roberts, Danny Crook and Mike Oden serving as pallbearers.
