Willis Buster "Tate" Trent was born on September 7, 1922 in Brown, Oklahoma to Robert Fred and Tina Bryan (Lay) Trent and passed from this life on January 14, 2014 at his home in Mead, Oklahoma at the age of 91.

Tate has been a lifelong resident of Bryan County. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge he returned to Bryan County and married Dollie Mae McKerley on November 16, 1946. He went to work for Bryan County in road construction. And after his retirement he devoted his time to farming and ranching. He was a member of the Mead Baptist Church.

Tate was preceded in death by his parents; brother Johnny Trent and sisters Louise Myers and Helen O'Dell.

Tate is survived by his wife of 67 years Dollie Mae Trent of the home; daughter Sandra Gail Dyer and husband J.D. of Mead, OK; son Gary Wayne Trent and wife Freddie Jane of Ft. Towson, OK; grandchildren Tyson Trent and wife Candi, Lindsey Smith and husband Clint, Kimberly Gail McKnight and husband Brad, Jon T. Shepard and wife Sara and Mark Brandon Shepard and wife Chrissy; numerous great grandchildren; brother Rob Trent and wife Martha; sisters Billie Jean Mullens and Betty Jo Morris and many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Roger Speers will officiate. Interment will follow in Mead Cemetery with Mark Shepard, Jon Shepard, Tyson Trent, Brad McKnight, Clint Smith and Robert Mullens serving as pallbearers.
