Vida Mae (Owens) Teel, 94, of Blue, Oklahoma passed away September 6th, 2013 at MCSO in Durant. She was born in Blue, Ok on April 21st, 1919 to Anderson and Linda (Bickerstaff) Owens. Her mother passed away when Vida was 3 months old, and her father later married Eula Owens of Blue.
She married Henry Ford Teel on July 4th, 1936. She was a retired school cafeteria cook. She loved gardening, cooking, and fellowshipping with her friends and family. She was of the Baptist faith and is now with her heavenly father with no more pain or tears.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Loretta Jean Compton, Sisters: Dortha Foster, Ivy Glenn, and Virginia Dale Owens. Brothers: Bill Owens, Richard Owens, Doc Owens, and Nigle Wood.
She is survived by Brother, Harvey Wood, Son Ford Jr. and wife Jane Teel of Durant, Daughter Linda Jewel and Glen Self of Caddo, Ok. Grandsons: Kevin Self and wife Anita of Caddo, Ok, Don Teel and Wife Norma of Silo, Ok. Granddaughter Terri and husband Glenn Kimbrell of Longview, TX. Great grandchildren: Brianna Teel of Silo, Hunter Self of Caddo, Jessica Torres of Longview, TX, Glen Kimbrell Jr. of Longview, TX. Great-Great Grandchildren: Chase, Cyntia, Alicia, and Alexis Bailey, all of Longview, TX. She also had numerous other relatives, and a host of dear and loved friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and dearly loved her. Especially dear friends Pauline Teel, and Mattie Edge and nephew Johnny Ward Teel.
Special thanks to Larita Johnson, who cared for her in her home during her last days. A Funeral Service for Vida Teel will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday Morning September 10, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Caddo with Reverend Anthony Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Caddo at the Gethsemane Cemetery. Pallbearers- Don Teel, Kevin Self, Hunter Self, Johnny Ward Teel, Chris Harkey, Mack Self Honorary Pallbearers will be Ovoid Boydstun and Lloyd Boehme.
