Hazel Corene Wingfield, 94, a long-time resident of Caddo went to her heavenly home to be with the Lord, her husband James, family and friends on Friday, May 16, 2014, in Durant. Hazel was born on February 2, 1920, in Wylie, Texas to John Benson Evans and Martha (Mattie) Susan (Shewbirt). She married James Henderson Wingfield on April 6, 1940, in Caddo. She was a loving wife and a wonderful Mother to her nine children. Hazel was always smiling and had a favorite quote, "Smile and the world smiles with you, cry and you cry alone."

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Lily Baker, Iva Bebout, and Vera Lindsay; brothers Arnold Evans, G.W. Evans, Lester Evans, and Norman Evans; son-in-law Tommy McGee; grandson Christopher Wingfield and granddaughter Monica Wingfield.

She is survived by sons; Howard Wingfield and wife Helen of Durant, Wayne Wingfield and wife Kay of Broken Arrow, James Lynn Wingfield, David Wingfield and wife Lena, and Dale Wingfield and wife Sandy, all of Caddo; by daughters; Reba Schafer and husband Hans, and Juanita McGee, all of Caddo, Rita Burney and husband Mike of Durant, and Donna Dellinger and husband Chris of Garland, TX. Her Grandchildren and their spouses Sandy and Keith Emerson, DuWayne Wingfield and Jason Wingfield, Angela and Mike Wright, Eric Wingfield, Audrey Benhardt, Kara and Lee Nickles, and Brett Schafer, Lance Schafer, Cindy and Kevin Westman, Julie Hollingsworth, Christopher and Nicole Vaughn, Greg and Gina Hamilton, Crystal and Kelly Gabbart, Daryl and Melissa Holaday of Durant, Tina and Chad Wasileski, Matthew Wingfield and Andrew Wingfield, Geoffrey and Karleen Wingfield and Chad Wingfield, Misty and Gary Steadman, and Monica and Benny Walta. She is also survived by her 34 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday, May 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Caddo, OK. with the Reverends Anthony Williams and Jim Baker officiating. Family visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 18th at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, 121 N. 5th Street, Durant, OK. Interment will be at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo.
