Flora Bass died peaceably in her own home on June 1, 2014 of natural causes at age 65 in Hobbs, NM.

Her parents were circus performers and Flora was raised in a circus environment and educated by her parents while traveling across the country. Flora attended and completed high school in Hobbs, NM and then went to the Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in El Paso, TX, shortly after nursing school Flora joined the Army and furthered her nursing career. She worked in Labor and Delivery and then in Neo-natal care before retirement. Her love of animals, gained while in the circus, led to a lifetime of caring for sick and injured friends of nature.

Flora received multiple awards throughout her academic, military and civilian life. Flora showed many talents and skills in her sewing, drawing and creating gifts by hand.

A woman of faith, she could always be found in her favorite seat at church. She proved to be a great friend, daughter, sister and aunt.
