Armeda Holloway, 83, of Garland, TX, passed away July 31, 2014 at Christian Care Center in Mesquite, TX.

Armeda was born June 1, 1931 in Seminole, OK. She was raised in Bokchito, OK where she attended school and graduated in 1950.

She married Bobby Holloway on May 27, 1950 in Durant, OK. They moved to Garland, TX in 1954 and returned to Bokchito, OK in 1998 after retirement. She moved back to Garland in 2010.

Armeda (often called Meme by family and friends) was a longtime member of Big Springs Baptist Church in Garland, TX where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a fabulous cook and loved being with her family. She loved children and always had a special place in her heart for her grandkids, great grandkids, and her nieces and nephews.

Armeda is survived by daughter, Cindy Lee and husband, Glenn of Garland, TX; son, Hugh Holloway and wife, Sherry of Bokchito, OK; granddaughter, Tammy Oehlke and husband, Jason of Sachse, TX; grandson, David Lee and wife, Wendy of Garland, TX; and grandson, Jay Holloway of Rogers, AR; and six great grandchildren: Colton Oehlke, Lexi Oehlke, Savannah Lee, Brooklyn Lee, Jackson Lee, and Kenzie Lee.

She is also survived by sisters, Della Rhew of Muskogee, OK; Jane Wetzel of Calera, OK; and Judy Williams of Garland, TX; brother, Jerry Brown of Bokchito, OK

Armeda was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; parents, Chester (Check) Brown and Mary (Polly) Brown.

Services are Saturday, August 2, at 2:00 PM at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, OK. Bro. Anthony Williams will officiate.

Visitation will be two hours before the service from 12:00-2:00 PM.

Burial will be in Bokchito Cemetery. There will be no graveside service.
