Ollie Michael a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the VA Hospital on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the age of 96 years 9 months and 30 days. He was born in Carter County, Oklahoma on Monday, February 19, 1917 to Paul A. and Rebecca Jullette (Ford) Michael.

Ollie served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps from October 1940 thru September 1953. Ollie served as a fighter pilot in WWII in the South Pacific and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross for his combat bravery. He worked as an inspector for the Oklahoma State Department of Agriculture, and a high school Science teacher both for the State of Oklahoma and for the State of California for a total of 30 years. Ollie received degree's from Murray State College, Oklahoma A & M and Fresno State College. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Durant, Masonic Lodge #45, Shriners and Little Dixie Shriners Club. Ollie enjoyed being outside fishing, square dancing and traveling.

Ollie was a social person and enjoyed talking with family, friends, co-workers, and anyone else that would like to listen. Ollie enjoyed fishing of all sorts, especially for trout in the high country of California. He also had a passion for helping students with science, agriculture, and entomology projects.

Mr. Michael is survived by his wife, Irene of the home; sons, Ragon and wife Betty Michael of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Tommy Michael and wife Debby of Spring, Texas; grandsons, Jacob Michael and wife Joella of Agoura Hills, California and Charlie Michael and wife Michele of Medford, Oregon; granddaughter, Rheanna Hinojosa and husband Nick of Tomball, Texas; grandson, David of Spring, Texas; 5 great-grandchildren; step-children, Kathy Hughes and husband Mike of San Diego, California and Keith Ward and wife Paula of Haslet, Texas and 3 step-grandchildren.

Mr. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Rebecca Michael; first wife, Jeannette in 1994; brothers, Robert and Gene; sisters, Quida Pyler, Laura Laughridge and Carmen Taliaferro.

A Funeral Service in honor of his memory will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Jacob Michael and Charlie Michael officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Michael will have full Marine Military Honors, Masonic Rites and a Patriot Honor Guard tribute.
