Gordon Bischoff Obituary

Gordon Bischoff

Kanab, Utah

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Gordon Kenneth Bischoff, 79, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday June 19, 2013. He was born on October 16, 1933 in Billings, Montana to parents Robert Kenneth and Harriet Marchant Bischoff. Gordon humbly served his church, country and fellow man. He loved to serve and to share his knowledge, especially of the gospel, with others. He enjoyed singing, reading and gardening. He happily spent hours tending to his yard and garden daily and waving to all who passed by. He had a special relationship with each one of his grandchildren whom in return all adored him. Everyone who met him loved him; he was either shaking their hand or trying to feed them.

Gordon graduated from BYU with a degree in agricultural economics and did his post graduate work in Moscow, Idaho. He retired after a successful career as a mortgage loan officer for Prudential Insurance Company.

He is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 54 years, Joan; his children Richard (Carla) Bischoff, Susan (Duane) Moore, Grant (Lori) Bischoff, Luann Bischoff, and David (Teresa) Bischoff; 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and sister in law Carol Fjeldsted Bischoff. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Genevieve and Rosemary and his brother Keith.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 23 from 6:00-7:00 PM at the South Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and again Monday morning at 11:45-12:45pm. The funeral will follow at 1:00pm. Burial will take place at the Kanab City Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 69. Mosdell Mortuary is handling all arrangements.

I am so very sorry to hear about Gordon's death. He was a kind, caring, fun loving and spiritual man. He served in the bishopric in the Citrus Heights Singles ward and I remember so great temple trips and Brother Bischoff's big smile.
He touched so many lives.
Thank you to your family for sharing him in his service.
