Betty D Patterson Gillins passed away September 29, 2013 in Beaver, Utah. She was born April 5, 1923 to John Edward Patterson and Ester Duc in Beaver, Utah.

Betty graduated from Beaver High School. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and a member of the Red Hats. She served for five years in the Boise, Idaho LDS Temple. She had also served in her ward as Relief Society President and also served other various church callings.

Betty was a banker for most of her adult life and retired as an Escrow Officer. She was head of the Escrow Department for Bank of Nevada. She earned many educational certificates in banking. After high school, Betty married Perry Isadore Gillins of Milford, Utah on February 23, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had 2 children, a daughter Marie Leavitt, and a son Wayne Gillins. The family moved to Boulder City, Nevada, then to Henderson, Nevada, next to Sweet, Idaho and then moved home to Beaver in 1991.

Betty is survived by her 2 children, 7 grandchildren, 24, great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Carol Vuckovich and Patricia Sherman. She is preceded in death by her husband and also by her sister Lois Tolton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Beaver 1st Ward Chapel. Viewing will be held prior from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be made at www.sumortuary.com.
