Ethan Bundy(1949 - 2013)

Ethan Allen Bundy

St. George

Ethan Allen Bundy, age 64, returned home to his Heavenly Father on October 13, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born April 17, 1949 in St. George, Utah to Elmo (Frosty) and Beulah Griffin Bundy. He married the love of his life, Debra Sue Hunt, on June 3, 1972, in the St. George Temple, where they were sealed for time and all eternity.

Ethan was raised in Mount Trumbull AZ until he was four, then they moved to town to attend school. He grew up in St. George attending West Elementary, Woodward Jr. High, Dixie High School, and Dixie College.

As soon as he was old enough he worked on many ranches, on the Arizona strip during his summers. He was an All State football player; he was the President of the first Dixie rodeo club. He loved to rodeo, and played hard, he truly loved all of his classmates. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Australia.

He worked at many jobs over his lifetime, but he was a welder most of his life. He worked for St. George Steel, YESCO, and Western Rock.

Ethan was a rancher all of his life, and that was his true love. When he was 35 years old he bought the family ranch from his parents. This is where we all learned to work. Ethan loved Horses, to Race Horses, to studying about horses.

He had many callings in the Church, as Elders Quorum President, Stake Mission President, High Priest group leader, teacher, but his favorite calling of all was when he was the nursery leader.

Ethan loved to talk to everyone everywhere; the missionary in him never went away. He loved to help people down on their luck.

He loved his family and all his rowdy grandchildren. He was a great man and we will miss him.

He is survived by his wife Debra Sue Hunt Bundy (St. George), Camareo (Amy) (St. George), Troy (Dani) (Central),Leo (St. George), Shirley (John) Leavitt (Veyo), Stoney (Jalyn) (Alamo NV), Lex (April) (Surprise AZ);21 grandchildren; his brothers, Elmo Kay (Karlene) (Carlin NV), Mont (Paula) (Diamond Valley), Abe (Beverly) (St. George), Herb (Eve) (Hugo, OK).

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Emily.

The family would like to a give a special thank you to Liberty Dialysis for their kindness and care they gave to Ethan.
