Guy Pierre Camille Bayle

St. George

Guy Pierre Camille Bayle passed away on April 30, 2014. He was born in Blanc Mesnil, France on April 16, 1932 to Pierre Achille Bayle and his wife, Germaine Antonio Briche. He was raised by his Aunt Yvonne Briche along with her two children, Yves and Paule from ages 6 to 15 at which time his parents, were able to bring him to Houston, Texas, where they were residing during WWII. In Houston he graduated from Lamarr High School where he learned English and then attended Rice Institute University and the University of Houston with degrees in Math and Electrical Engineering. Upon finishing his education, he married Mary Louise Harper, and began his career with North American Aviation., Inc. in Anaheim, California. Guy and Mary Lou had three children; Guy Pierre II and wife, Shelly, daughter Lorette Lee, and Andrew Clayton and his wife, Tristin and their families.

Guy had an illustrious career as Rockwell's and Boeing's top engineer. He retired in 1987 after his last assignment on the development and flight of the space shuttle, working closely with NASA and the astronauts and many other companies. He was highly respected in the aerospace industry and by all those with whom he worked.

Guy and Marjorie met in 1970, and were married in 1973. Guy acquired three step-children; Teresa Lee, Daniel Ross, and Amie Louise. Dealing with the challenges and demands of a large family, Guy became a respected and beloved husband, father and step-father. Guy had a kind and generous heart and made many friends during his lifetime. He retired at age 55, and with Marjorie, settled in St. George, Utah where they made many good friends and enjoyed golf, traveling and good times with children and grandchildren. Due to undetected cancer on his spine, Guy became partially paralyzed in 2002. However, he and Marjorie adjusted to a different lifestyle and continued to enjoy their remaining years together.

I often told Guy that he was my most admired person because of the way he coped with life. He kept a good attitude in spite of his health issues. Many of us valued his wisdom and we respected his intelligence. He leaves my sister, Marjorie, who has been his wonderful caregiver for so many years. We love you both. Meize and Bob

I will remember Dad and how much he loved Mom and all of us kids and took care of our family. He was so good to all of us and patient with us as we were growing up. He taught me how to change the oil in my car and helped me with my homnework, he walked me down the aisle when I was married and always loved and supported me through some very difficult years. I have grown to be a better person with the faith he had in me to succeed. The tears will flow, for his memory will never go...Thanks, for always being there, Dad, love, Teri
