Karma Nielsen Conn passed away October 2, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born June 11, 1920, in Monroe, Utah, daughter of Zeraldo N. Nielsen and Nellie Emma Whiting Nielsen Sister of Reed (Judith), Ileen Ogden, Eunice Kay (Arthur) and Talmage (Dorothy) Nielsen. Wife of Major Myron Robert Conn (deceased). Married June 17th, 1944 in Salt Lake City. Mother to Marcie Alley (Stephen) of Bountiful, Utah, Beverly Harbertson (Nile) of Salt Lake City, Utah, John Cary II (deceased), and Michele Conn of Los Angeles, California. Grandmother to Marc Alley (Cindy), Ben Alley (Sally), Megan Lyman (Bart), Brandon Alley (Jacki), Kristen Johnson (Darron), Jaren Harbertson (Allison), Brooks Harbertson (Lisa), Summer March (Dave), McKenzie Myers, Morgan Yen (Tyson), and Wyatt Lund. Grandma Great to 20 great grandchildren (21 soon)!
Karma was a supportive wife, loving mother, and trusted friend. She was an example to all who met her and had amazing skills which she willingly shared with others. She was creative, resourceful, and had a wonderful sense of humor that endeared her to many friends. She was an accomplished musician, earning awards for her viola playing and singing talents. Music was her passion. She instilled in her children a love for the great composers.
Karma attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, BAC in Cedar City, Utah State College in Logan, and LDS Business College. She was an honor roll student and loved to learn. Karma served faithfully in many church callings. She and her dear husband served a mission in the Mexico City Temple. In addition, they actively served missions in the St. George temple for 11 years.
She leaves behind an amazing legacy of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who love her. She will be dearly missed.
