Monte McConnell, 74, passed away in his home in Mesquite, Nevada on January 4, 2014. He was born in Bend, Oregon to Harvey and Ida Carter on February 23, 1939.
Monte lived life with passion and a healthy dash of fun. He served two tours of duty with the Marine Corps, 12 years of service with the Montebello Police Department in California, and was an owner/operator of a trucking company. He was active in the Mesquite Volunteer Fire Department and the Oasis Men's Bowling League.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy, step-daughter Amanda McNally and granddaughters, Tara and Ashley as well as by his Montebello Brothers in Blue and his many friends in Mesquite.
A Celebration of Life is being held at the home of John and Barbara Stallone, 465 Greens Way in Mesquite on Sunday, January 19 from 2:00 to 5:00. Final resting place will be Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
In lieu of flowers, Sandy is asking that donations be made in Monte's name to the Mesa View Hospice.
