Andrew D Hunt age 84 passed peacefully in Ivins, UT, on January 22, 2014. He returned to his heavenly home after complications from cancer surgery three years ago. Andrew was born on December 4, 1929, to Max Elias and Beulah Anderson Hunt in Enterprise, Utah and raised in Idaho. The family moved to Ivins, where as a teenager he met his wife of 66 years. Andrew "Dee" married Zenetta Winsor on April 10, 1948 in the St. George Temple. As a young couple they set a goal to have 12 children and were blessed with six boys and six girls. They also raised a foster son, Kenneth Denetclaw Jr., with the rest of their children.
Dad's greatest joy and ambition in life was his family. He worked over 40 years as a truck driver to support them. He was a member of the LDS Church and served in almost every church calling available. He was called to be the Bishop of the Ivins Ward at age 28. While he was serving as bishop, he was voted in as Mayor of the town, and also served as the Scout Master at the same time. His example of hard work and integrity is his legacy to his children.
He is survived by: his Wife Zenetta; children, Christine (Leonard) Sawtelle, Alice Hunt, Louis Hunt, Charice Hunt, Evon Hunt, Max (Becky) Hunt, Jaron (Tanya) Hunt, Bryce (Stephanie) Hunt, Sara (Jim) Boatright, Paul (Shannon) Hunt, and Tyler (Kathee) Hunt. He is survived by eight of his sisters, 37 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Mishalee and her husband Paul Wilson; his daughter-in-law Rebecca Dortch; his granddaughter Lydia Austin; and his two brothers, and one of his sisters.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 11:00a.m., at the Ivins Center Street Chapel. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Ivins City Cemetery.
