Pahrump

Charles George "the bocce guy" passed away at his home in Pahrump. His wife Lois preceded his death. They were married in Riverside California and were happily married 42 years before her passing. Together they had three children: Byron George of Mesquite, Lana Derloshon of Sun City California, and Scott George of Pahrump.

Charles was born in Reynolds Oklahoma in 1925. He had six brothers, two of which, are still living; Clyde George of Canyonville, Oregon and Robert George of Hemet California.

Charles served honorably in the United States Navy during World War 2. He participated in battles in the Coral Sea including Saipan and Iwo Jima. He was awarded the Victory Medal WWII.

Charles achieved the honor of a Master Mason and was a Mason for nearly sixty years. He was a member of The Downey California Lodge. He requested a Mason funeral and The Pahrump Mason Lodge conducted a honor guard service.

Charles was a member of the Typographical Union and worked as a "mailer" for over forty years. He will be missed by his loved ones, and his many friends.
