Charlie B. Persinger

With heavy hearts the family of Charlie B. Persinger announces his passing on January 6, 2014, at Dixie Medical Center, in St. George, Utah. Charlie was born on September 26. 1945, in Crab Orchard, West Virginia to Homer D. (Pee Wee) and Raphael T. Persinger (nee Rice). He met according to Charlie, "The best thing to ever happen," Ann Rice in Washington D.C. in 1986 and married on May 29, 1994.

He was an avid youth baseball player (Babe Ruth League) playing on several All Star and Championship teams. Charlie was a Vietnam Era Army Veteran. He worked at General Motors for 30 years as a Journeyman Millwright, retiring from UAW local 167; active in the UAW holding positions as President of Local 2093, Three Rivers, MI, C.A.P Chairperson for St. Joseph County, MI and an active member of the Democratic Party attending several national conventions. In 2006 they moved to Mesquite, NV and finally settled in Littlefield, AZ.

He is survived by: his wife, Ann Rice-Persinger; Children- Karri(Ryan), Charlie B. Persinger Jr.(Nicki), Bobby Joe(partner Marci), Brian(partner Valerie), Brandi Rice(fiance Daryl); Grand Children- Jonathon, Tessa, Collin, Teagan, Owen, Wyatt, Landon and Aria; Great-Grand Children, Logan & Scarlet, Brothers- Jack E. (Donna) Persinger, C. Paul Persinger; Sisters- Judy O'Mera and Sherry (Arnold) Gray; Sisters-In-Law- Marie Persinger, Sue Persinger and Diane Persinger, along with several nieces and nephews; Extended Family- Gaspar and Gloria Estrada, Children-Debra(David), Gaspar Jr., Gabriella, Angelique, Grand Kids- Christopher and Adrianna. Charlie was preceded in death by: his Parents; Brothers- Homer, Bobby, Dallas, Freddy, Tommy, Dean and Brother-In-Law Paul O'Mera.

Following Charlie's wishes his body will be donated to medical science, then cremated. A celebration of Charlie's life is scheduled for Saturday, February 8th, 2014, from 1:00pm-3:00pm. at UAW Local 19 4330 Stafford SW Wyoming, MI 49548
