The world lost a heart, bright and full of love on April 3, 2013. Terry Lynn Carpenter-Parry was born July 21, 1951 in Artesia, California. She was the sixth of seven children born to George and Georgianna Turnbaugh-Carpenter.
Mom had a heart bigger than the world and loved her family and friends, heart sisters, and even a few strangers. She touched the lives of everyone she encountered with her outgoing personality, beautiful smile, and twinkling eyes. She was a dedicated member of the LDS church and had a true love for her Savior. Terry had many hobbies including taking long rides and going fishing with her husband, crocheting, cross-stitching, and crafts. She also took great pride in her career as a beautician and enjoyed "dolling" anyone up, but her true passion was singing. With mom around, there was always a song to be sung. She loved life and had an adventurous and creative spirit, along with a great strength that helped her stay positive during her courageous battle with cancer. She will truly be missed by many.
She is survived by: the love of her life, Gerron H. Parry. They were married on February 14, 1970 and together have three daughters; Sheila (Paul) Zdanowski, Michelle (Jim) Lee, and Beverly (Mike) Sherratt, along with Collette (Dale) Jablonski, Dale (Mary) Parry, Calvin Parry, and Devon (Dawn) Parry. She is also survived by many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who each brought her great joy with their hugs and kisses, also by Siblings; Gayle (Kenny) Zeigner, Jerald T. (Anna) Carpenter, and Patricia (David) Poe, Sister-In-Laws; Carol Carpenter and Barbara Carpenter and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Babe, and brothers Jack and Jim.
The family would like to thank the many friends and family members who have continued to visit and lift Terry's spirits over the past weeks. Also, thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff who so lovingly cared for her, with a special thank you to the hospice staff for their compassionate care in her final days.
