She graduated from Preston High School, received her BS from the University of Idaho and her Masters Degree from Washington State University.

Bernice spent her growing-up years happily playing sports, swimming in the Bear River and making life-long friends from High School.

After High School, she taught school first at Caldwell, Idaho, then moved on to Oregon to teach at Salem. She next taught at the University of Idaho, receiving a teaching fellowship at Washington State, where she completed her Masters Degree.

Bernice retired in the late 1980's to help care for her mother. They took trips to Europe, Wales, Hawaii and many cities in the USA. They truly enjoyed their time together.

She was a very active participant in golf, playing Bridge, painting and maintaining her special friendships. After her roommate, Fran, died in 2008, she moved to Mesquite, Nevada, to be near her sister and niece, Darlene and Polly. She loved the desert, but missed the Oregon rain.
