Betty was a good friend and a excellent Judoka. I worked with her on the mat at Law's for a few years. She was always of good sprits and never gloomy. She would practice arts until she mastered them. She was also president of the AJJF and ran meetings during a troubled time in the AJJF. She kept all of us on the straight path. I will miss her.

Betty was a fantastic moral compass and guide to finding one's own strengths. Jui Jitsu is the discipline but the sensei trains us not just in technique but in how we look at and resolve problems in life beyond the mat. Once touched, forever changed.
