Laura was my best friend at P.S. 86 in Indianapolis in the late '50s. We'd had no contact since the Fletchers moved to San Mateo in 1962, but over the years I've often recalled the many adventures we had, riding our bikes and exploring Butler University and the canal. Laura was always up for an adventure.
