George Prifold Harrison

George Prifold Harrison April 9, 1939 - Oct. 3, 2011 Resident of Moraga, CA George was born in Berkeley, CA. Son of the late Robert D. and Caroline Harrison. Brother of the late Robert D. Harrison, Jr. We are saddened by his unexpected death at age 72 from complications during surgery. George is survived by his loving family, wife of 50 years, Susan, his daughters Karen and Kristen, son Michael and daughter-in-law Karen, and two grand-daughters, Brittany and Elsie. George attended Acalanes High School and graduated in 1965 from Stanford University, where he is a Hall of Fame Swimmer and was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. An U.S. Olympic swimmer, he participated in the 1956 Melbourne and 1960 Rome games winning Gold in 1960 in the 4 x 200 meter freestyle relay. George was a Principal with Lee & Associates of Pleasanton, CA, specializing in Investment and Industrial Brokerage. Donations may be made in George's memory to American Cancer Society or the Stanford University Swimming Program. Notification of a memorial celebration will be made by family.
