Stephen Cain Obituary

Stephen Austin Cain
Dec. 28, 1956 - May 2, 2017
Resident of Modesto
Stephen Austin Cain went to be with his Lord on Tuesday night, May 2nd.
Steve was born in Eureka, CA. He earned a B.A. in Spanish and a B.S. in Economics from St. Mary's College of California and his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. On September 5, 1992 Steve and Maureen were married at St. Mary's Church in Walnut Creek. They had two children in Walnut Creek before moving to Modesto. He practiced law for over 33 years as a trial attorney.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Maureen; devoted children Patrick and Kelly; his mother Evelyn of Walnut Creek; brother Michael (Janet) Cain; sister Elizabeth "Suzy" Cain (Rich Wood); sister Carolyn Cain; and nieces and nephews Michael (Amanda) and Chris Cain; Matt and Melissa Wood; Rachel (Graham) Yockey; and Annabella Lothrop.
Steve found joy where he could be of service to others such as coaching baseball for many years and serving on the board of the Parkview Christian Estates retirement home. He regularly attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and Davis Park Church of Christ in Modesto.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, May 22, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church 2039 Mt. Diablo Bl., Walnut Creek. Directly after, will be a service at Queen of Heaven Cemetery 1965 Reliez Valley Rd., Lafayette. Following will be a reception at Zio Fraedo's Restaurant 611 Gregory Ln. Pleasant Hill, CA 94523.

Steve was the best baseball coach to my son Ryan Flood. He would be the one out there pitching the balls to anyone that wanted to come hit. He will be greatly missed by all of us. He has touched out lives in the best way.
