Joseph, loving husband of 53 years to Patricia Ann Fraga, Passed away suddenly on August 1. 2014, at the age of 74, in the presence of his wife. Beloved father of Bill Languemi and wife Cheryl of California, Christine LoveU and husband Mark of Washington and Joseph Languemi Jr. and wife Anke of Germany.
Grandfather to Clinton and Ashley Languemi, Jackie and Christian Burkett, Nicholas and Elisabeth LoveJl, Rachelle Languemi, Samantha Lovell, Jennifer and Matt Kidney, Lisa and Andy Smelser and Ashley Beals.
Loving Great Grandfather to Hunter and Gavin Kidney, Leah, AJysah, Micah and Isaiah Burkett, Logan and Liam Languemi, Carson Lovell and Morgan and Emilynn Smelser.
Joe was a family man, a great husband and father to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He lived most of his adult life in Alameda County, moving to Las Vegas in 2011. Joe did not know how to say NO. If you needed anything Joe was your man. He was funny and lighthearted and had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in his life. The whole family is going to miss him dearly.
Joe was an Air Force Veteran. After that he worked as a candy maker and plant manager for Standard Specialty Company in Oakland, From there he entered the police academy and was a Pleasanton Police Officer for 14 years. He retired from the police force and opened up a Sports Card and Supplies business. He also worked as a Security Officer.
Joe was a member of the following organizations during his life: Scout Master for the Boy Scouts; 4lh Degree Knights of Columbus; past president of the East Oakland Rotary Club; a Brother of the Young Men's Institute: the P.F.S.A.: Brotherhood of St. Anthony; S.P.R.S.I. Men's Club and St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church Men's Club.
The wake service will be held Thursday. August 7th. with the viewing starting at 5pm; Rosary at 7pm. The venue is at Graham Hitch Mortuary, 4167 First Street. Pleasanton, CA. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2pm on Friday, August 8th at St Augustine's Catholic Church, 3999 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton, CA. Interment will be on Monday, August ll'h at 2pm at the Sacramento National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road. Dixon, CA.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Young Men's institute, Seminarian Educational Foundation, PO Box 281047. San Francisco, CA 94127-1047.
